Being irish originally, I used this book to help my kids get started, brightly coloured pictures kept their attention, but unless you have someone who can speak irish it may be difficult as it doesn't help with pronunciation. This is more of a book to help with young childrens revision than a book to teach. That said, I do like it, as do my kids, and I've even used it to help teach a few basic words to my other half!
