Editorial Review:The Wedding is Danielle Steel's 48th novel of the lives and loves of America's beautiful people, and fans of Steel's recipe for glamour won't be disappointed. The Wedding's heroine is the young, "long, lean and beautiful" Allegra Steinberg, Hollywood attorney to and confidante of the stars, whose books include Bram Morrison, "one of rock music's great heroes", and the dashingly handsome actor Alan Carr, whose number "half the women in America would have given their right arm for". All seems well in Allegra's Ferre wearing, Mercedes-driving world. Her charming father, Simon Steinberg, is apparently happily married to her beautiful mother Blaire Scott, and the nominee for a clutch of Golden Globe awards as one of Hollywood's most successful movie producers. Allegra's "clean-cut and preppy" boyfriend Brandon Edwards seems to be all that she could want. However, in the space of several whirlwind days jetting from east to west coast, Allegra makes an unpleasant discovery about her father, and has a fateful encounter in New York with the "long and lean" writer Jeff Hamilton which will change her life forever. Steel sets in motion an emotional roller-coaster which engulfs a dazzling collection of glamorous friends, family and lovers, as the search is on for wedded bliss. --Lucy Snowe Reader Reviews:Her best book ever. (2/2 people found this helpful)The book is set in Hollywood environment and follows the life of successful and attractive entertainment lawyer, Allegra Steinberg and the lives of her parents and siblings. Allegra seems to have everything she could desire including the handsome and successful Brandon Edwards on her arm. However, when Allegra flies to New York for business a chance encounter with a writer and a whirlwind week getting to know him better, causes her to re-evaluate her life and the people in it. As this happens the "long and lean" writer re-enters her life for the better, and as a result a long lasting and rewarding relationship begins. Soon Allegra finds herself planning a wedding and as all generations of the Steinberg family deal with problems in the past present and future the real reason of the wedding emerges- a fresh start. A great summertime read! (0/0 people found this helpful)This book is so typically Danielle Steel with the whole gambit of emotions packed into it. Okay, so it's not rocket science, but it's an easy read with sections that every reader, I'm sure, will be able to relate to - except for the Hollywood setting that is - but if you want a more "down your street" location, best stick to Catherine Cookson or the likes. Absolutely Brilliant!! (1/1 people found this helpful)Are you in need in some time to chill out with a glass of wine and a good book? This is just the thing believe me!! From someone with a little more than a lot of experience in reading, Danielle Steel's latest is one you will really enjoy! I found this book so real and yet so dreamy! This book is about the struggles of a young women with a fulltime career, trying to deal with the stresses and the strains of planning a wedding-sounds familiar?? As little events build up in the weeks before their wedding Jeff and Allegera struggle to cope without killing each other. At times you don't know whether to laugh or cry!! A really good read and I suggest you have some tissues on hand!! So realistic it will scare you (2/2 people found this helpful)I thought the book was wonderfully written and made Danielle Steel shine through once again as an author. It included romance, and tears all in the same story. It made me believe that there really is love out there for everyone and that it will find you and not you it. Loved the characters and found them all to be strong in character. The part of the story that i loved the best was when Sam had Matthew and found her motherly insticts to strong to hand him to another person, even if that person was to be her sister. I'm not a mother but i can only imagine the strong feelings and emotions that goes into making a decision like that. Wonderful and easy read. I found I couldn't put it down when i started reading. Danielle Steel does it again! (1/1 people found this helpful)Another rivetting read from the pen of Danielle Steel. How does she do it? Once again a book I just couldn't put down. She captivates her audience by creating characters that you just have to keep reading about. This time she concentrates on the lives of some of the Hollywood elite and their everyday lives. Allegra is a beautiful and successful lawyer to the stars who definitely deserves the love she eventually finds in the guise of Jeff Hamilton. I love the way that Danielle Steel also gives you an insight into other characters as well as the central character. Well worth reading. Become a Danielle Steel fan now and never have a dull read again! Similar ProductsThe Ghost Lone Eagle CategoriesAmazon.co.uk places this book into the following categories:
