Ooo chimpanzee Karl! Monkey Book! (0/0 people found this helpful)

The book transcribes some of the best of Karl Pilkington from the podcasts as well as one or two from the XFM days (horse in the house!). So no new material here but you get to see lots of Karl's drawings and photostatic images of his diary (he writes in CAPITAL LETTERS). If you love Karl then you'll love the book, simple as that. A funny read for when you're on the can but nothing more. That said the brilliance of the three shine through better via audio as you get to hear Ricky's impersonations and near constant hysterical laughter, and Karl's heavy Manc accent making ordinary sounding words funnier ("there's a lot of faffin'", "grippage", "rum'n'gin"). It's still funny to read though even if you're familiar with the anecdotes and makes for an easy and funny read. And it's only a penny on marketplace! Alright?

Had me laughing on an aeroplane, this is one of the best collections of weird and funny stories I have ever had the pleasure to read.

Very Funny - You don't need to be a fan of the office (0/0 people found this helpful)

At my advanced age (40) there are very few books nowadays that get me literally laughing out loud. This is one of them.

Everybody knows by now that this is the transcript of the podcast of the radio show. I haven't heard them but it appears they have lost none of their comedy impact by being issued in book form.

The only slight bitter aftertaste is that you do get the impression that a lot of the humour is derived from Steve and Ricky (especially) being so vicious and scathing in their putting down of Karl's ridiculous (although endearing) opinions and theories. A lot of the laughing appears to be at him, not with him.

I found the book a little too short but nevertheless I highly recommend it.

Great fun for the idiots amongst us! (0/2 people found this helpful)

I was quite late in joining the world of Podcasting as a fan. My first introduction was The Ricky Gervais Show and within minutes realised the funniest thing about it wasn't Gervais himself but so Manc producer by the name of Karl Pilkington.

This guy is such an idiot, i honestly can't believe anyone could be so stupid. I bought every series and enjoyed them all, constantly mesmerised by the ramblings of a mad man. I heard the guys mention Karl had written some books and decided to buy them.

Happyslapped and Karlology aren't great but i throughly enjoyed this one. Its more seperated from the Podcasts and feels alot fresher. He refers several times to stuff already heard but most of it is new stupidness backed up by funny little quotes and stats.

If you like reading in bed or even in the bath and don't want anything to intense then get this. It will cheer you up and put a smile on your face and therefore does what it intends to.
