I started reading this to my son when he was 18 months, he is now 3.5 and its still one of his favourites. There is a lot of detail in all the pictures and the story moves from one page to the next and in the right context too. Its a well thought out, wonderful book!!

With large colourful pages full of everyday words "Thomas' Really Useful Word Book" was an instant hit with both me and my two children.
Each page is brightly coloured and so full of pictures the children seem to find something new to look at everytime they turn a page. This is helped with several pictures that have to be matched up. While looking for these, children are encouraged to look closer than they normally might.
All the words are written in lower case (unless they're names) and the labels often include colours (eg.blue parcel) so it's teaching several different things all at the same time.
An excellent book that will encourage children, and especially Thomas Fans, to recognise all those 'Really Useful Words'!!
