Reader Reviews:a book for all people (0/0 people found this helpful)especially for second generation pakistani's living in UK. amongst the confusion of who we are, a story about listening and following your heart. 'only when it is dark, can you see the stars'. The most inspiring book i have ever read (3/3 people found this helpful)I strongly, strongly urge you to buy this book. Not only is it a fascinating read and a really entertaining story, the message behind it is utterly inspiring and one which needs to be spread to as many people as possible. If only there were more people in the world like Greg, the man is incredible. I can honestly say that it has fundamentally changed my views on religion, politics and the best way to make the world a safer place for everyone. Everyone i know who has read it feels the same. You won't be disappointed. Absolutely Brilliant - a must read (2/2 people found this helpful)This book came up on the Abe Books site (sorry Amazon) as a recommended read and i can endorse their comments completely. Once started I could not put it down - Mortersen has unbelievable determination and is able to convey this through the book so the reader feels his passion too . The way to promote peace and fight extremism of all kinds is surely through education and I agree it should be compulsory study at secondary school level. The book will give you a fantastic insight into the lives of people living in areas the west would consider hostile -reading it makes you re think your own views and want to open your mind to what is generally reported in the press.
6 stars wouldn't be enough (2/2 people found this helpful)This book is fantastic. It is an inspirational testament to the power of change that one person can unleash on the world if they are determined enough to make something happen. It is also a reminder of the strength of education as a tool for positive social change. What Greg started and he and his dedicated team now achieves deserves all our support. It is also a wonderful, deeply compassionate and often truely gripping tale. I would like to give it far more stars than Amazon allow, so instead I intend to pass it on.
A gripping read (1/1 people found this helpful)This is compelling book and once opened I found myself totally gripped by the fascinating story which unfolded. I bought this book after reading a magazine review and despite being a little unsure that the subject would appeal to me. I need not have worried. Everyone should read this book and I'm convinced no one could remain untouched by it.
