Reader Reviews:A great read (13/13 people found this helpful)This is the first of Lilian Harry's books that I've read, and I picked it up in the library purely because of the cover and the exciting summary. If her other books are as good as this one, then I can't wait to read more. Three Little Ships is a well researched fictional story based on the Dunkirk evacuation and contains a lot of detail I hadn't read before. The individual stories of how these particular three little ships became involved and of how their crews coped makes a terrific read, and you are turning pages anxiously to see what happens. Each crew has a particular soldier in mind they hope to rescue, and we also get to find out what happens to these soldiers as they make their way to Dunkirk in the hope of being returned to England to regroup, gather their strength, and return to battle. Highly recommended. Best yet! (13/14 people found this helpful)I REALLY enjoyed this story! I had never read a book that detailed the rescue at Dunkirk! I was amazed and touched by the sacrifice of both soldiers and civilians! I have read many of Ms. Harry's books, and this one is wonderful! It is my hope that this author will continue to write her amazing stories of WWII! She has given this reader a glimpse of the trials and triumphs of life in England during those trying times! Thank you Lilian Harry!
