The material in this book is useful, interesting and well written, the practical information is fine, and it's a handy size. However, wherever there's a cross reference to elsewhere in the book (ie. frequently), the pagination is wrong. It seems the copy has been lifted from another format - the original Time Out Berlin, no doubt - complete with cross-references, without proper re-editing. Shoddy, lazy and irritating, if you ask me.

Just spent the weekend in Berlin and it was perfect for our needs. We would have given it 5 stars, but the maps could do with a bit of improvement...

I have just returned from a long weekend in Berlin and found this book to be very useful in understanding more about Berlin and its various districts (the book is broken into sections based on the districts) and restaurants/bars/pubs. The maps (as I have also found in other Time Out guides) are excellent and accurate. The guide is compact and the perfect size to fit in the back of your jeans pocket. The only thing I could criticize about it is it could do with a better, longer (and clearer) section on more useful German words/phrases. Also, I'm not sure this is the best guide if you are trying to decide what hotel to stay in (my accomadation was already sorted). Otherwise you can't go much wrong for the price.
