It says in the front of this book "original edition edited by the Langenscheidt editorial staff" which probably explains why I couldn't see the difference in these two dictionaries, other than the covers.
It is well laid out; the blue headwords are quite a sober blue and easy to read, unlike some which are quite dazzling and make reading difficult. The font is clear and the covers are flexible but long-lasting. I also much prefer the Berlitz dark blue spine on my bookshelf to the Langenscheidt yellow! It stands up well to being carried about in a bag or pocket
For the size of the book it has a very good coverage. This is a more up to date version of the 'original' edition I carried around a few years ago when talking with Turkish friends and which we referred to frequently. It was very rare to find a word which wasn't in. There are "more than 50,000 entries" and if you need more than this you are probably looking at a desk top dictionary.
I feel an excellent balance has been struck between not being too small to be really useful and not too big to carry about. It's got a 'feel-good factor' too!
