Reader Reviews:Good subject matter, but badly written. (0/0 people found this helpful)Ken Livingstone's political career is fascinating, but oh how I wish he'd chosen a better writer! Carvel's style is so plodding that it makes an interesting subject verge on the boring. However, it's still worth reading, and it seems to be the only biography of Livingstone that's currently in print. Carvel's done a thorough research job (including interviews with Livingstone) and the book is essential reading for anyone interested in London and/or UK politics. Go ahead, make sure Ken is read! (1/1 people found this helpful)An excellent background bio of the man that would be mayor of London. For those with an interest in the politics of London, from those heady GLC days to the current run for mayor of the GLA this is highly recommended!
