This book requires the reader to already have a basic knowledge of the subject. By the time I had reached page 35 I had already come across at least 2 fundamental errors ! The author had made mistakes, either technical or typing regarding interface types and speeds, i.e. E3 & OC18 (OC48) these had me cross referencing specifications with other authors. Because of this, as a newcoming to SDH I have lost a little confidence in the technical accuracy of the rest of the book. The enclosed CD ROM is basically the book with the text removed but the gaps left in. The diagrams are in PDF format so are only of any use if you have a full version of Adobe. Had the book not had these obvious mistakes so early and if the diagrams were in a format which was manipulable I would have given it 4 or 5 stars.
