Reader Reviews:Brilliant (2/2 people found this helpful)I wanted to start learning more about operating systems (Unix in particular) by poking around inside my Mac, and this book is a brilliant introduction to the subject. Enzer demystifies the command-line and has you writing shell scripts within days. There are introductions to networking and system administration, and he's never afraid of pointing you at more detailed books on each subject. My only complaint is that he clearly thinks vi is better than emacs - I mean, what?! But that's an ongoing salvo in that particular skirmish.
