Eventually Jade tires of it all, and although she still loves Vicky deeply, she realises she has to get on with her own life.
Once again, Wilson digs deep and delves into tricky territory with a tenacity that at first shocks; but within a few minutes the shock subsides and the reader is drawn into Jade's world, willing her to come to terms with Vicky's death and praying that she will soon find her own way.
As ever, Wilson's characters are beautifully observed, and the story is filled to the brim with an emotional truth that is both awe inspiring and captivating. Jade's response to Vicky's death, her realisation that the pedestal on which Vicky was placed during her short life was not as stable as she first believed and the ultimate release from the burden of guilt and love are dealt with a sleight of hand that allows the reader to become completely involved with the story without a hint of darkness, captured instead by a lightness of touch that can only serve to make Wilson's peers green with envy. Vicky Angel is another of Jacqueline Wilson's top books for children/teens.
I was around the age of 11 when i first read this, and since then ive always loved it, and it has gotta be one of my fav books..
Vicky Angel makes you laugh & cry, and that is what you are after in a book.. so take my word for it, and buy it!!

First off, I am not that familiar with Jacqueline Wilson's books that are generally aimed toward kids and teenagers but I think in this certain book, Vicky Angel is generally aimed toward older children and even adults. I never knew Jacqueline Wilson's writing style could be so dramatic, tense and overall emotionally impacting that you can barley finish a sentence or scene as the impact was so strong that it was almost sad. Lots of reveiwers have probably explained the plot of the story but here it goes anyway - Vicky and Jade have been best friends since play school and are practically like sisters except one day when Jade and Vicky are quartering over which club they should enter and everything changes. Vicky is accidentally run over and is reported dead in hospital. Jade grieves for her best friend and finds life un-bearable without her. Oddly enough though, Vicky returns but not as herself, as a ghost and yet Jade still finds life especially hard at school and home etc. Vicky continues to boss Jade around and interferes with her life to hopefully make new friends and get on as normal. Jade soon begins to realize that Vicky is telling her what to do, what to say and is practically controlling her life and is making Jade miserable in certain scenes, yet at the same time she cannot face facts that Vicky is gone and she has to let her go, sooner or later if he is going to survive.

At first when Vicky dies you feel surprised and a little over whelmed at how quickly it all happened but the story soon moves on and focuses entirety on Jade's life and how she longs for her best friend but also to continue life as usual and make her own decisions without Vicky interrupting. This book is truly moving and some scenes are very powerful that you can simply not read them. Despite the sadness some characters feel I could not help but laugh at Vicky's practical jokes and how often she uses them. I am also surprised at how well Jacqueline has dealt with the grieving process. I imagined it would be all tears and nothing else but I was pleasantly surprised. However as mentioned above, I do feel as if this book is aimed toward a higher reading group as it was quite serious and sad in some places. Jade and the Vicky ghost stay friends throughout the story but do have their share of arguments and fun filled scenes. I ended up willing Jade on in the hope that she can finally let go and continue life as normal. This was truly a moving read and I recommend it to any Jacqueline Wilson fans. However I do feel as if the ending was a little rushed but apart from that it was a fantastic read. 4/5.

Vicky and her best friend Jade are like twin but they do not look alike. Vicky is gorgeous, popular and funny but Jade is skinny, shy and very unpopular. After a little argument, one day, when school had finished, Vicky got ran over! See what happens when Jade's life gets haunted by Vicky and it just keeps getting worse! This story is a bit like the diary of Jade as she explains every part of her days in great detail not missing one tiny bit. I read this book in less than twelve hours even though it is 156 pages long - that's how good it is. As soon as you start the book you can put it down right till the end! A must read for all 9 - 13 year old girls (and maybe boys)!

I'm not the hugest Jacquline Wilson fan in the world, but I really enjoyed this book. I found it believable even with the supernatural elements, and also the question of whether Vicky came back at all, or was it all in Jade's head? A great book dealing with grief and friendship.

i really enjoyed this book . when i first started to read jaquline wilson books .this was the first book . it was a bit sad when the car killed vicky but it still was very nice . if i was you ill buy it . i have all jaquline wilson books and they were all dramatic .
