Reader Reviews:viv the hero (30/30 people found this helpful)I live in Newcastle and if you mention vivs name to someone they shut up. Viv was a real hardman gangsta , but he was also a proper family man and had a heart of gold he loved his kids more than anything. I feel so sorry for Vivs family after his tragic death in 1993 he left behind 3 kids in the nortorious westend of newcastle, Viv made his way up to be the hardest and most feared man in the north east. If Viv was after you, you knew you were in serious trouble. This is an amazing book about a true north east hardman with strong family values. "parrallel lives" the true story of Viv Graham and Lee Duffy (24/25 people found this helpful)Having read all 3 of the other Stephen Richards books on the tyneside hardman Viv Graham ,It was a must for me to read the auto-biographies of Viv Graham and Lee"the duffer" Duffy. This Book goes indepth into the lives of these infamous hardmen and tells how both men wanted to get out of the game, but were unable, because they were to deeply involved.Indepth interveiws are held with close friends and relatives, of both men showing another side to there nature, both being family men.It also tells of how both men had several attempts made on their lives. This was a really intresting book, more so for me as i still remember the days when i heard about the murders of both men.My wife's uncle was a close friend of Viv's.You really need to read this book to find out what really made these men tick. There are also intrviews with other infamous local hardmen such as Ernie Berwick from Sunderland and " Big Bri" Cockerill from Stockton on Tees.Star Rating a Fantastic 5 out of 5 CategoriesAmazon.co.uk places this book into the following categories:
