Reader Reviews:The funniest book ever? (1/1 people found this helpful)Quite simply this book had me in stitches from begining to end. The plot involved various real characters from the Victorian era but the stars of the book were WG Grace's self-reviews of the matches he played against a variety of non cricketing nationals and apparently one all of them single handedly. Other characters encountered include the Vilebastard twins (pronounced Villibart) from America, Charles Dickens, Mrs Beaton, Queen Victoria, Mrs Hudson, the Brotherhood of Post-impressionist painters, Martians and a cunning use of germ warfare. To wind up all I can say is that if you see this book, buy it, read it and enjoy it.
