If this book had been available when I first started out with WebObjects, I woulld have saved myself countless hours of confusion and frustration. Although there is little that is not found in Apple's own documentation, this book leads you, step by step, through all the major concepts and explains them with a series of well thought out tutorials. A classic example is the use of DirectActions, which are mentioned very matter of factly in the Apple docs - 'oh and you could use DirectActions for this if you wanted...' And exactly how should we go about this??? George tells it how it is:-)
Although the book doesn't come with a CD of the tutorials, these can be found on the companion website... If you are thinking about buying this book, check out the site if nothing else...
All in all, well worth it (even if it wasn't the only WebObjects book out there!).Despite being nearly 400 pages long, it is very readable (I read this book cover to cover in a couple of days),whilst still being 'meaty' enough to use for as a reference (I regularly find myself dipping into it to remind myself of some principle or 'borrow' one of the examples!). An excellent companion to Apple's own documentation.
