Reader Reviews:The Cinderella of Wellington Biographies (4/4 people found this helpful)Probably because there were lots of more famous authors out there at about the same time, this version of Wellington's biography never made it to the same league as, say Richard Holmes' alternative. That is a pity, because it is a very good peice of work, readily accessable to the generally interested and nicely rounded as a single-volume treatment for the more dedicated fan. The focus on the military aspects of Wellington's career is particularly relevant if that is what you are really interest in. So, overall, a bit of a Cinderella, and deserves to be better regarded.
