Since the publication of this book, the author has been awarded his country's highest honour, the Order of New Zealand. His story starts with immigrant grandparents and develops through his growing up in the NZ of the Depression and WW2 and on to service to the community there as Presbyterian minister and then as professor of religious studies - all with the background of family life. He is now a leading figure in world-wide radical religious thinking. The book tells it all with warmth and with encouragement to others seeking meaning in life.
