Reader Reviews:Engaging and Informative (3/3 people found this helpful)What Steve Wetton has acheived in his book is remarkable. It's rare to find a book on creative writing that connects you to its author in such a way. Reading through the book made me feel like I was being taken under Mr Wetton's wing such was the warmth of his honest and intelligent narrative. The meat of the book is to "write a 30 minute calling card in 10 weeks". That's certainly possible given the logically structured chapters and exercises. I particularly apprecciated the exercises, which certainly gave my writing a kickstart, and the useful step by step guide stating the author's preferred method of getting from the initial story's premise to the final draft. It's hard to find a better book designed for the fledgling television writer. It really is that good. If you want to write for television, buy this book! (3/3 people found this helpful)No-one can teach anyone how to write, but this book is packed full of advice about the CRAFT of writing for television. If you have the talent, then the information in this book will allow you to hit the ground running when it comes to presenting your work to television companies like a professional. Wrong synopsis (7/11 people found this helpful)I think you have the wrong synopsis. This book is about writing TV Scripts, not academic essays.
