Reader Reviews:teacher's reccomendation (1/1 people found this helpful)I have found that this book appeals to all ages from Year R - Year 6, especially for children with EBSD as there is no threat - just fun and enjoyment. It is also especially useful for children with speech and language difficulties as there is so much to look at,discuss and choose! Surely the best average rating on amazon (1/1 people found this helpful)I wanted to write a review of this book and saw that loads of people have already given it 5 stars (and no less at the time of writing) and written exactly what needs to be said about it. Buy it, share it, talk a LOT when reading it and pass it on. Really, really good encouraging toddler speech (2/2 people found this helpful)My small grandaughter was just coming up to 3 when we bought her this book. Although intelligent she was allowing her older brother to talk for her and so oral communication was not quite as developed as we thought it should be. This book brought out words and phrases and encouraged two way oral communication in a way that nothing else had. Like most children, once started she is now difficult to stop. She is much more confident and assertive about what she wants and likes and this book encouraged that. A very good purchase. Fantastic book, can't recommend it highly enough. (2/2 people found this helpful)A few friends recommended this book to me. I was slightly dubious as to whether my children would get much out of it - they are the sort of children who normally pick exactly the same things when given a choice, who always want to be the same thing when they grow up (an artist and a fireman!) and are quite fixed in their opinions. However I did buy the book and it has proved a real hit. Both of them (daughter aged 5 and son aged 3.5) love it and ask for it most nights at bedtime. They also read it together when there isn't an adult free and it has kept us going through several long car journeys. They are always discovering new and interesting pictures and creating new scenarios. I have put it on my list of great presents to give to children between 2 and 5! best book so far (3/3 people found this helpful)My 5 year old was given this book as part of her 'bookstart' pack, almost a year ago. She really enjoyed it as it encourages children to use their imagination and create their own story.
