Great book (0/0 people found this helpful)

This is the best of Anthony WTs diabetic coobooks so far. We have made at least 10 meals from it in the few weeks that we have had it. We particularly like he Tunisian Fish Stew.

Enjoy your food (1/1 people found this helpful)

A cookery book for anyone and you do not have to be a diabetic. Easy to follow, and having now tried some of the dishes each one has been great.
AWT has produced a cookery book that needs to be in every kitchen for meals with something for everyone. Even the pictures are a feast.

The Essential Diabetes Cookbook. (1/1 people found this helpful)

This is a wonderful book for any Diabetic. It's a wonderful read, very informative and easy to follow recipes. It also goes into great detail about diabetes and explains how to cook without too much salt, sugar and at the same time producing mouth watering dishes.

Butter, what butter? (3/3 people found this helpful)

There is a recurring anomaly in this book - several recipes stipulate oil as an ingredient, but then go on to say 'melt the butter'. This would suggest that is has not been very carefully proof- read! Apart from that, the book looks very interesting, with attractive colour photography and interesting suggestions for healthy eating.

The Essential Diabetes Cookbook (22/22 people found this helpful)

This is a very good recipe book. It is very comprehensive and caters for all food types - meat;fish and vegetarian eaters. It is a good size - you can prop it up against a wall and read as you cook. It is attractively photographed.

The range of recipes from across the world made me restock my spices and also buy a new wok. I have to say that I had no time for A. Worrall Thompson before I read an article about the book. He just struck me as yet another celebrity chef amongst the many. However, he has created a very good book for diabetics.

The only problem is that there is no indication of GI factor in any of the recipes unlike my other cookbook "Quick Recipes for Diabetes" by Louise Blair and Norma McGough. However, Louise Blair co-authors "The Essential Diabetes Cookbook" and Diabetes UK are also involved.

To conclude I would recommend this book for anyone who lives with a diabetic in an effort to make fun wholesome food.
